Chas climbing the rocks of the Nopah Formation in Dedeckera Canyon. These rocks were formed from a fault at the bottom of a sea in the Cambrian Period about 550 million years ago.

For some reason I have a ton of photos with Chas as a speck climbing some compelling rock formation. This is a Chas pattern.

Hawaiian Shirt Caldera

I love the startled looks on their faces along with the bulging lava domes behind them. Then there’s the rim of the caldera itself… Crust… cooled and sunken. This is clearly dangerous ground and these boys are taunting it with Hawaiian shirts, no less.

This family is attracted to calderas. Here we are, crouched down and staring into the smoldering holes of a Hawaiian volcano. Take risks, we say.I found this photo on an old roll of Fuji 800. So glad I just had it developed.
